World Trade Centre (WTC), Bhubaneswar in association with The Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII) and the Department of Handlooms, Textiles and Handicrafts, Government of Odisha, has launched the ‘Utkal Mahotsav-2023 ‘From Farm to Fashion” program at KIIT Institute of Fashion Technology from Friday, December 22, 2023.

The two-day program was inaugurated on Friday by esteemed guests including The Mayor of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation Smt. Sulochana Das, Chairperson of the State Women’s Commission Minati Behera, Chairman of the Indian Textiles Association, Odisha Unit Prof. B.B.Jena, Regional Director (Eastern Region) of The Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India Dr. Subrata Biswal, Registrar of KIIT University, Shri. Jnyana Ranjan Mohanty, WTC Bhubaneswar Women Forum, Adviser, Dr. Rina Routray, and EDIl Project Director Bishnu Panda were present. On this occasion, the guests cut ribbons and inaugurated the exhibition, and visited the stalls.

Students and staff from the KIIT, KISS, and KIMS visited the venue to motivate the Weavers / Artisans present on the occasion and also provided a big boost to all the Handloom and Handicrafts enthusiasts making the event a grand success. The event witnessed fashion walk by eminent personalities of the state, cultural programs by the weavers as well as the participants. Further, fashion shows by eminent designers of the state as well as EDII showcasing Odisha Handloom and interactive Sessions with the weavers were also conducted during the program.

The program was held on 22nd – 23rd December 2023 at Campus – 3, KIIT University, Bhubaneswar.
