Ms. Gipsita Nayak, Dy. Director KIIT School of Fashion Technology was invited by Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Odisha, Indian Women Network (IWN) and Young Indians (Yi) for their event ସ୍ବyam Srujani 2024: Weaving a Sustainable Future for Odisha’s Textiles and Crafts, as a Speaker in their Panel discussion held on 2nd November 2024. The other panelists were Shri Shoven Krishna Sahoo, IRS, Director Textile and Handlooms, Govt of Odisha, Dr. Binay Bhushan Jena, Director, National Institute of Fashion Technology, Bhubaneswar, & Mr Surendra Kumar Patra, National Awardee Handloom.
The event was inaugurated by Shri. Sampad Chandra Swain, Hon’ble Minister Department of Industries and Skill Development & Technical Education Govt.of Odisha, Shri Akash Dasnayak Hon’ble MLA along with other members of the CII.
The objective of the event was to put a light on the state’s renowned crafts and textile and it brought together artisans, designers, policymakers, corporates, and cultural enthusiasts from the state as well as the country—to explore and promote the state’s traditional crafts and handloom products while emphasizing skill development in these sectors.
